Ceiba Speciosa 10 Seeds, Hardy Pink Chorisia Kapok Silk Floss Tree
The Plant Attraction
Ceiba speciosa
Also known as: The Silk Floss Tree, Bombax, Kapok, formerly Chorisia speciosa
This very unique subtropical or tropical, deciduous tree with gorgeous pink flowers is from Brazil and Argentina. The blooms are actually highly variable, lily-like flowers in various combinations of white, pink, often with purple to red striations on the petals. The older the tree, the better the flower display. After blooming, pear shaped fruits appear which have a profusion of silky puffs containing seeds. The silk is extremely soft and is used as a stuffing material.
It is resistant to drought and moderately cold hardy to 20F. It grows fast in spurts when water is abundant, and sometimes reaches more than 82 ft in height. The trunk is covered with spiny decorative protuberances, adding to the overall curiosity of the tree. Easy to grow! A premier tree choice for your landscape.
This offer is for 10 seeds.
