Delonix Regia Var. Flavida or Flava 10 Seeds, Yellow Golden Poinciana Tree
The Plant Attraction
Delonix Regia Var. Flavida
Also known as: Flava, Poinciana Tree, Flamboyant Tree
This is a rare natural occurring variety of the Delonix. Its sister tree, the brilliant red Delonix is one of the most beautiful flowering trees in the world. Over time it can grow to 30-40 feet tall but its wide spreading umbrella-like canopy can be wider than its height, like a big bonsai. The outstanding golden yellow blooms will appear spring through summer. The evergreen, bipinnate foliage is deciduous and smooth.
It can tolerate hard pruning & can be kept small to even grow in a greenhouse. Full sun when established with medium water needs. Said to be frost tender, so be careful. Should not be exposed to temps below 30 degrees F.
**This tree is not to be confused with the large yellow Peltophorum or the dwarf Caesalpinia Pulcherrima 'Flava' which it's often mistaken for. Up close the flowers are very different, and the seeds look nothing alike. Plus that, the Peltophorum and the Caesalpinia is much more cultivated. Over time, all 3 varieties have been nick named the 'Poinciana', hence the reason why so many mislabel them.
This offer is for 10 seeds.
