An evergreen tree native to the Himalayas, Myanmar, Tibet and Yunnan. It can grow up to 30 meters tall but normally will only reach 15 meters, with a rounded to broadly spreading canopy. Flowers which are very fragrant and sweet smelling come out during January to March. These are milky white and about 6" in diameter when fully open. The bark is dark grey, and the wood is well known for building homes and furniture in certain parts of the world.
It prefers full sun to light shade and needs to be watered when dry. Zones 9-10
