How Omega Works

When you feed the soil in the presence of stress, like heat and unpredictable rainfall, you energize microorganisms and promote nutrient uptake to maximize the potential of grass. This builds fertile soil that is resilient to environmental changes.

How Omega Impacts Soil Structure

Soil texture is important because it determines the success of plant growth. Poor soils typically have a bad soil texture and may be described as "clumpy soil," but soil activators like Omega can aerate and break up soils like this. Even sandy soil can benefit from soil activators when the soil receives added nutrients that may otherwise leach through easily.

Omega improves soil structure by increasing water retention, aerating the soil and adding plant nutrients. Like many soil activators, it improves poor soils by improving the way soil particles fit together and adding organic matter throughout.

Omega can break up clay soils and free up nutrients to be more available to plant roots. Overall, soil activators improve soil structure in poor soils by adding more living organisms and minerals. Improved soil means that the soil is more loose and "crumbly," but holds together when damp and can sustain plant roots. Omega improves poor soils by addressing their structure.

Q: What is the shelf life?

A: This product has an 18-month shelf life.

Q: Is this product safe for my kids, pets, animals or livestock to be around? Even if animals eat the grass?

Q: Can I use the product in my current turf program?

Q: I purchased a sprayer quart. Do I have to use all of the product at once?

A: You have to use it all at once. The bacteria will activate and they will start to "bloom." This will produce A LOT of methane in the container, and it will swell and burst. The great thing is that you cannot over apply it. The more concentrated the better!

Q: Should I use Omega with other products?

A: Omega boosts conventional programs or fertilizers. While Omega stands alone as a product, it can be used along with our FertALive humic acid fertilizer for optimum fertilization results.

Apply Omega in the summer, beginning in May through June, depending on where you live.

Southland Organics Sprayer Quart Instructions

If you're using the Southland Organics sprayer quart:

Insert the straw into the black sprayer nozzle. Attach the nozzle to the sprayer quart bottle of Omega. Attach your hose to the sprayer nozzle, and turn on your water. Turn the dial on the sprayer nozzle to "mix," and the sprayer will automatically dilute the product to the proper ratio. Spray in even strokes, saturating your grass with the mixture. A full quart should take about 3 minutes and cover approximately 1,000 square feet.

Using Your Own Sprayer Instructions

If you're using your own sprayer:

Assemble your sprayer as directed by the manufacturer. Pour Omega the reservoir. Turn the dilution dial to one ounce or two tablespoons (depending on which unit is used on your sprayer). Spray in even strokes, saturating your grass with the mixture. A full quart of product will cover approximately 1,000 square feet.

Landscapers

Apply Omega during the summer months.

Always dilute Omega. We recommend a 1:20 product to water ratio. Use all of the diluted mixture within 24 hours.

Dilute and apply 4–12 ounces of Omega per 1,000 square feet of land. Repeat this every 28 days for a total of 3–4 applications.

Golf Courses

Apply Omega during the summer months.

Always dilute Omega. We recommend a 1:20 product to water ratio. Use all of the diluted mixture within 24 hours.

Dilute and apply 10–12 ounces of Omega per 1,000 square feet of land. Repeat this every 28 days for a total of 5 applications.

Hydroseeders

Use Omega in the late spring through fall during hydroseeding projects.

Add 1 gallon of concentrated product per 500 gallons of slurry. Add Omega before adding water so that it can coat the seeds and mulch well in your agitator.
