PORT | Holding Tank Septic Treatment
Southland Organics
PORT is a powerful outdoor restroom and holding tank treatment that provides rapid waste degradation and odor control. PORT efficiently and effectively breaks down solid waste, clears bio-solids in septic systems and opens up clogged pipes, often adding years between tank pumping.
Benefits of PORT:
- Eliminates unpleasant odors rather than simply covering them up with perfumes or fragrances
- Harmless to human, animal and marine life
- Digests difficult compounds toxic to naturally occurring beneficial bacteria or existing sewage bacteria
- Breaks down difficult detergents, fats, oils, tissue and hydrocarbons with biological additives
- Reduces corrosion resulting from leaching hydrogen sulfide
- Non-corrosive and non-pathogenic
- Safe to handle and store
- Free from harsh chemicals
PORT is a USDA Certified Biobased Product®. This means that it's made of primarily biological products and therefore considered an alternative to petroleum-derived products by the USDA.
Southland Organics is fully registered with SAM.gov
Q: What is the shelf life?
A: This product has an 18-month shelf life.
Q: Can I apply bleach or Lysol with PORT?
A: Please no! The disinfectant will immediately kill the beneficial microbes in PORT and render them useless. Sure, the organic acids might still work, but the product will have lost its effectiveness.
Septic Tanks Applications:
Once per month, pour PORT down your drain or flush it down the toilet. For normal use in a 1,000 gallon septic tank, apply 1 quart of PORT on the initial application and 8 ounces each month thereafter. If your tank is problematic, apply 1 gallon of PORT.
PORT can completely clear a clogged septic system drain field.
Vault Toilets Applications:
Add 2.5 gallons of PORT and 15 gallons of water per 1,000 gallon vault as needed. During increased traffic, add 1 gallon of PORT between cleanouts or as needed.
For best results, add PORT (diluted in water as specified below) when the vault has been freshly pumped. Then, the vault can be left to fill to capacity without any additional product needed. If solids begin to exceed the water line, additional water may be needed.
Vault Size | Dosage | Water to Add |
---|---|---|
3,000 gallons | 7 gallons PORT | 49 gallons minimum |
2,000 gallons | 5 gallons PORT | 35 gallons minimum |
1,000 gallons | 2.5 gallons PORT | 17.5 gallons minimum |
500 gallons | 1.25 gallons PORT | 9 gallons minimum |
Other Biological Odors
When diluted at a 1:7 product to water ratio in a backpack sprayer, PORT can be used to solve any biological odor, including garbage dumpsters, organic spills and animal decomposition.
