Here is a beautiful native to India and Sri Lanka and is known to attract butterflies. It is a evergreen subshrub that grows 1-3’ tall, and features apricot to salmon pink flowers in terminal racemes that blooms throughout the year (everblooming). Ovate to lanceolate shiny dark green leaves.
It's grown as a bedding plant in tropical and subtropical areas and as an annual in northern areas. It also can be grown indoors.

No serious insect or disease problems. Prefers light, organically rich, medium moisture, well-drained soils in part shade. Tolerates bright full shade. As with African violets, it can be grown effectively under artificial lights. Needs high humidity. Winter hardy to USDA Zones 10-11.
