Here is a stunning deciduous Himalayan cobra lily that emerges in late winter to early spring. It carries its inflorescence on a tall thin mottled pseudostem about 12"-36" tall. The white, green, dark brown, and yellow -green inflorescences open before the pedate leaves. Striking spathes are brownish purple mottled with green and striped with distinctive white vertical lines. It grows from a tuberous rhizome in shaded woodland habitats, offsets freely and is usually very reliable to flower. It is resistant to deer and rabbits.
It prefers sheltered partial to full shade with well drained substrate.
Hardy in zones 6-9 if given good drainage and a winter mulch.
